Geocaching workshop set Aug. 18

The Potomac Valley Audubon Society will sponsor a geocaching workshop at its Yankauer Nature Preserve in Berkeley County on Sunday, Aug. 18

The workshop begin at 4 p.m. and last about two hours. It will focus on the basics of geocaching, including the use of the GPS (Global Positioning System).

Participants may use their own GPS units or smartphones. GPS units will be available for those who need one.

The event will be free and open to the public but space will be limited and pre-registration is essential. To pre-register or get more information, go to the PVAS website or contact Kelly Wolf at kheldreth@hotmail.com or 304-229-6229.

Participants should wear comfortable shoes and bring insect repellant.

The Yankauer preserve is located on Whitings Neck Road in northeastern Berkeley County; detailed directions can be found on the PVAS website at www.potomacaudubon.org.
