Immunization requirements for new school year
New immunization requirements for 7th and 12th grade entry went into effect March 2012. These requirements adopt the most current recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) for adolescent Tdap and meningococcal vaccine. These vaccinations are required in order for 7th and 12th graders to enter school in the fall of 2013.
Jefferson County Health Department Immunization Clinics will be held from 9-11 a.m. on the following dates: Aug 15, Sep 19, Oct 17, Nov 21 and Dec 19, 2013. Those children who have Medicaid must bring the current card with them. For children with private insurance there will be a fee for the immunizations, please call to confirm.
