Dance and Creative Movement classes announced
Goose Route Arts Collaborative will offer two sessions of dance and creative movement classes for kids this fall beginning in September. The classes take place at the Shepherdstown Train Station and are taught by Goose Route director Kitty Clark. Goose Route’s classes focus on appropriate developmental stages of movement, creative problem-solving, cooperation, and respect for others.
“Mini Movers,” for ages 3-5, meets Mondays, Sept. 9-Oct. 21 (Session I) and Oct. 28-Dec. 16 (Session II), from 4:30-5 p.m. Boys and girls explore moving through space, become other creatures and challenges themselves to try other things, all with a variety of music to stimulate imaginations. The cost for Session I is $38.50 if registered by Aug. 31; $45.50 if registered after Aug. 31. Session II is $33 if registered by Oct. 21; $39 if registered after Oct. 21.
“Meant to Move,” for ages 5-8, meets Mondays, Sept. 9-Oct. 21 (Session I) and Oct. 28-Dec. 16 (Session II), from 5-5:45 pm. This class for boys and girls introduces fundamental dance technique while encouraging kids to discover new ways of moving and to invent their own dances. The cost for Session I is $56 if registered by Aug. 31; $63 if registered after Aug. 31. Session II is $48 if registered by Oct. 21; $54 if registered after Oct. 21.
