Group meets with Sen. Manchin
On Wednesday, July 31, seven Shepherdstown residents visited the office of Sen. Joe Manchin to discuss their continuing interest in the Senator’s initiative to seek bi-partisan support for his bill on increased requirements for gun registration legislation. The seven attendees were Esther Murphy, David Scott, Jack Young, Rosemarie Coy, Catherine Irwin and Betty and Hal Snyder.
They met with the Senator and members of his staff and indicated they were active in the Shepherdstown community and supportive of his efforts to gain bi-partisan Congressional action to increase gun registration requirements. The Senator indicated that the issue was not dead and that work was continuing to seek new legislation to require 100 percent gun registration.
