Obituary-A. Wayt

Ann Leo Wayt, 74, of Shepherdstown, died at home on Monday, Aug. 05, 2013.

A native of Dysart, Iowa, Ann was born on April 3, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Walter and Rhoda Leo. She loved her childhood growing up on the family farm, riding her horse and roaming the fields with her collies. Her love of animals never waned.

She was of the Methodist faith. She was a 1957 graduate of Dysart High School and attended the University of Iowa. She owned and operated Ann Wayt Interiors. She served on the board of directors for Friends of Music, was a member of the Friends of Music Guild, and was a member and past president of the Olde Berkeley Garden Club. She served on the boards of the former Boarman Arts Center and the Millbrook Orchestra. She enjoyed her rose gardens, playing tennis and entertaining friends.

She is survived by son, Mark W. Wayt at home; granddaughter, Samantha Actis, of Tucson, Ariz.; brother, Don C. Leo and sister-in-law, Judy Leo, of Wheaton, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry S. Wayt; and daughter, Chris Wayt Bosse.

Funeral services will be private. A “Celebration of Life” is planned with the date to be announced later.
