John William Jacques Sr., 72, of Shenandoah Junction, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013 at his residence.

Born July 23, 1941, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Lester Edward Jacques and Bertha Bell VanMetre Jacques.

He was of the Methodist faith.

John was an equipment operator with Eastalco.

He is survived by four daughters, Jacquelyn Jacques and Judy Jacques, both of Charles Town; Joellen Ridenour and husband, Darby, of Bunker Hill; Laurie Weller and husband, Donald George, of Shenandoah Junction; one son, John William Jaques Jr. “Mick” of Shenandoah Junction; four granddaughters, Luticia, Harley Dawn, Madelyn and Morgan; four grandsons, Roger, Andrew, Matthew and Nathaniel; one great- granddaughter, Aiyana; six sisters; and three brothers.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 9, at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg.
