Gardener’s Exchange to meet

By Staff | Aug 16, 2013

The Gardeners Exchange Group (GEG) is an informal network of avid gardeners from Jefferson, Morgan and Berkeley counties and the nearby areas of Maryland and Virginia. The purpose is to bring together people who share an interest in the practical, hands-on challenges and pleasures of gardening. Members are young and old; men and women; retired and working people; professional gardeners, master gardeners and beginners. The gardening interests of GEG members are just as diverse: wildflowers to roses, fruit trees to mushrooms, water gardening to Xeriscaping.

GEG members share information, resources, expertise, labor, plants and experiences through monthly meetings, garden visits, and special events. The group meets at 9:30 a.m. on the third Saturday of the month, April through October.. They welcome new members!

The next meeting is Saturday, Aug. 17, at 9:30 a.m. at the Blue Morning Farm, 1438 Billmyer Mill Road, Shepherdstown.

The meeting this month at Blue Morning Farm will allow David to show members around and tell about the ups and downs of growing produce to sell. Check them out on the Web and Facebook. Bring chairs, a cup for coffee, a breakfast dish, plants or other garden items to share and ideas and suggestions to make this a wonderful gardening season. Bring recipes that use all of those garden products, this would be a great time to share them. For more information, consult the GEG Website at www.g-e-g.org or call Carole Brooks, 240-405-7013.
