Irish Road Bowling is a wonderful fun, competitive and family sport, that is now played all over West Virginia. An upcoming event will happen on Trough Road in Shepherdstown. The game will be played on Sunday Sept, 8 starting at 1:30 p.m. Anyone can play this game. It’s for the competitive as well as a family sportthe game is bowled in the road..the ball (or bowl as it is called) is thrown similar to regular bowling and the game is scored like golf. But there are no pins to knock down and no little white ball to hit with a club.anyone can learn the game in just a few minutes, which is explained prior to every game. The course in Shepherdstown is 1.4 mile long, but is an easy leisurely walk, so wear sneakers. The game is also free to play. Registration is on the day of the event so come a bit earlier for that.
