Jessica Rachel and Thomas Smoot, of Berkeley County, welcomed their daughter, Baylee Evalynn Smoot at 3:51 a.m. Oct. 12, 2013 at Jefferson Medical Center. The baby weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 18 inches long. Welcoming the baby was Jayce Burke, age 3.

Paternal grandparents are Teri and Marty Smoot, Shepherdstown; paternal great-grandparents are Hank and Pat Henkes, Shepherdstown and Helen Strickler, Charles Town. Maternal grandparents are Russel and Sandra Rachel, Palametto, Fla.
