Free Dining With Diabetes class

By Staff | Oct 25, 2013

Whether one has just been diagnosed with Type II Diabetes, struggles balancing the diet during the holidays or have questions that need to be answered, WVU Jefferson County Extension is offering the FREE Dining With Diabetes program on Monday evenings in November. The class is a five-part series and will be held 6-8:30 p.m. on Nov. 4, 11, 18 and 25, with a follow up class in February 2014 at the WVU Jefferson County Extension Office, 1948 Wiltshire Road, Kearneysville.

The class is open to anyone with diabetes or pre-diabetes, or their family members, but participants need to attend all classes. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Classes will include demonstrations on how to prepare meals that are flavorful while using less fat, salt, and sugar. There will be an opportunity to taste a variety of main dishes, side dishes and desserts. Diabetes experts will be presenting a program each evening with the food demonstrations and tasting.

Call the WVU Jefferson County Extension Office at 304-728-7413 to register or for additional information or email Judy.Matlick@mail.wvu.edu .

All programs and activities offered by the West Virginia University Extension Service are available to all persons without regard to race, color, sex, disability, religion, age, veteran status, political beliefs, sexual orientation, national origin and marital or family status.
