Library hosts storytime
Shepherd students used puppets to tell There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly during the French Immersion Storytime on Oct. 7. Children (infants through early grade school) are invited to visit the Shepherdstown Library’s Children’s Department to hear stories and songs performed by students from Shepherd University’s Language Department Nov. 4 and 11. These full immersion story times will be held twice a month: programs on the first Monday of each month at 4 p.m. will be in French: November 4. Those held at 4:00 on the second Monday of each month will be in Spanish: November 11. Parents are asked to register their children for these free story times by calling the Library at (304) 876-2783, emailing “mailto:splchild@martin.lib.wv.us”>splchild@martin.lib.wv.us, or visiting the Library at 100 East German Street. Picture dictionaries, bilingual books, CDs, DVDs, and other foreign language materials for children and adults may be borrowed. Anyone with a Shepherdstown Library card can learn 80 languages for free using the link to “Pronunciator” on the Library’s homepage: www.lib.shepherdstown.w.us/.
