Holiday Breathing and Meditation Workshop at Jala Yoga

Jala Yoga at Mellow Moods Cafe and Juice Bar, 117 West German Street, Shepherdstown, hosts “Breathe & Be Loved” with yoga instructor Whitney Ingram. The workshop, suitable for all levels, takes place on Sunday, Nov. 24, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The cost is $20.

The focus of this workshop is helping participants to make space for themselves before the holidays and to learn to breathe and meditate through this often-stressful time of year. The workshop will include assistance in finding comfortable seated positions and an introduction to five different breathing practices, also called “pranayama.” The class will culminate in a meditation and final relaxation. This two-hour workshop is a wonderful way for people to begin a meditation practice and to learn more about the capacity of their breath.

Ingram is 200 hour Prana Flow certified through Maria Garre at Ananda Shala in Frederick, MD, and is a regular instructor at Jala Yoga. She discovered the path of yoga as a teenager as a way of finding self-forgiveness and stability, and she continues to study with and be inspired by all yogis who share their wisdom with her.
