The South Jefferson Public Library is pleased to announce an art exhibit featuring the works of Suzanne Ravgiala. This exhibition is the 48th in the Art in the Library series hosted by the library to highlight the talents of local artists. The exhibit runs from Jan. 5 through Feb. 28 and can be viewed during library hours: Monday through Thursday 10 a.m.- 7 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sundays 1-5 p.m.. The library is closed Fridays. The library is located at 49 Church St, Summit Point,.

Ms. Ravgiala says the following about her art: “My talents include gold leafing, faux finishes, wall murals, stenciling, antique reproduction signage, woodworking, decorative furniture painting, fabric art and songwriting.

“Some of my clients have been The Architect of the Capitol in Washington, D.C. The Smithsonian Institute, The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Pratt Art Institute in Brooklyn, The National Park Service Restoration Division, The Pride of Baltimore tall sailing ship and have had several of my songs recorded and two in a documentary and on YouTube ( Save One At a Time, and Together about abandoned animals ),” she said.

“I was commissioned to stencil a historic church addition in Ellicott City, Md. and won the Craftsman of the Year Award from the Building Congress of Baltimore,” Ravgiala shared. ” In addition, I lettered numerous display cases in the Smithsonian Institute’s 1876 Exhibit. All were to be fabricated using the same technology that would have been available in the 1800’s and many were painted to replicate the cases that had been in the original show. This exhibit was slated to be on display for a half a century and I was allowed to sign some of my work there for posterity.”

Note that on Sunday, Feb. 2, a reception will be held between 2 and 4 p.m. at the library for the public to meet and talk with this talented artist, view her beautiful and creative work and enjoy the refreshments on hand.
