Historic Shepherdstown church to offer Epiphany High Tea and Vespers

By Staff | Jan 6, 2014

Historic Christ Reformed Church, Shepherdstown, will mark Epiphany with what has become a local tradition, Epiphany High Tea and Vespers. Beginning at 6 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 6, high tea, a light supper, will be served in the undercroft of the church. At 7 p.m., the assembly will move into the nave for choral vespers offered in a setting of seasonal greenery, candlelight and incense.

Featured guests during this largely musical service will be “Strictly Strings,” a string ensemble from the Berkeley County Orchestra. The evening will conclude with punch and cookies again served in the undercroft. Christ Reformed Church is a congregation of the United Church of Christ of German Reformed heritage dating from 1747. The church is located at 304 East German Street in Shepherdstown.
