Wings of Dreams will present two workshops and an evening benefit concert and meditation Mar. 7 and 8 at the Harmony Healing Arts Center (211 East New Street, Shepherdstown) with Suren Shrestha of the Atma Buti School in Boulder, Colorado. Participants will experience the healing and relaxing benefits of Seven Metals (Himalayan) singing bowls.

Suren grew up in Nepal, where he learned about traditional Tibetan healing therapies and, since coming to the United States, he has been teaching them to others. He is the author and illustrator of “How to Heal with Singing Bowls.” Suren is raising funds through his teaching to build an orphanage for the homeless children in his native village.

Laura Rau, owner of Wings of Dreams, has been working with Suren for several years, purchasing his singing bowls and Nepalese Fair Trade crafts, and experienced first-hand the amazing results of his healing techniques.

The weekend events include:

Friday, March 7 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., a meditation and immersion in sound, with a benefit concert for the Aama Orphanage Fund in Nepal. $25 suggested donation.

Saturday, March 8 from 11 am to 2 pm, a fundamental hands-on course in how to play Himalayan Singing Bowls for sound & vibrational healing. Introduction to the history and lineage of the sacred Singing Bowls and how they’re made. See different sizes and styles of bowls available and learn techniques for rubbing, striking and playing bowls and Tingsha. (3 Hours, $75 registration fee)

Saturday, March 8, 3-6 pm, intermediate-level workshop. One- and Two-Bowl Healing. Learn how to effectively use one or two bowls without needing a whole set based on a bowl’s unique tone and positioning. This class will also be very beneficial for healing practitioners and those wishing to learn how to facilitate treatments with the use of a massage table. Prerequisite: Fundamentals (3 Hours, $75 registration fee)
