Meditation course at Harmony

By Staff | Feb 16, 2014

Would you like to be less stressed? See the world and your life with new eyes? Would you like to be more in the present moment?

Bill O’Brien, master of arts and divinity, will begin teaching an 8-week training on meditation and spiritual awareness, Feb. 20-April 10, from 7:45 to 9:15 pm Thursdays at the Harmony Healing Arts Center (211 E. New Street, Shepherdstown).

In the upcoming training, Mr. O’Brien will help participants gradually build a daily meditation practice of 20 minutes. “We will explore and practice mindfulness meditation through breathing,” he says, adding, “And also gather the spiritual wisdom of the ages, including Aboriginal, from East and West in the form of guided exercises, input, and handouts.”

Mr. O’Brien is founder and director of the Nathaniel Center for Spiritual Growth (since 1992). Formerly a Jesuit priest, he has long accompanied people on their spiritual journeys, is the author of “Walking with Nathaniel: Essays on the New Spiritual Quest” and has been featured on NEWS4’s “God in Washington” series, the Dennis Wholey Show on PBS, and “Family Matters with Paul Gottlieb” on Philadelphia Public Radio.

The registration fee is $120 per person. For more information, or to register, call Mr. O’Brien at 304-876-6071, or e-mail him at: nathanielcenter@gmail.com
