Audubon sponsors Wildlife Signs walk

By Staff | Mar 7, 2014

The Potomac Valley Audubon Society is sponsoring a “Wildlife Signs Walk” at the Cacapon State Park in Morgan County on Saturday, Mar. 15. The event is free and anyone is welcome to join in.

Participants should meet at 10 a.m. at the Park’s Nature Center. The walk will begin from there and be led by the Park’s naturalist, Renee Fincham. It will last about two hours.

This will be a family-friendly event that will show how to look for tracks and other signs of wildlife in West Virginia forests.

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged but not required. To register, go to the Society’s website at www.potomacaudubon.org. For more information, contactKelly Wolf at kheldreth@hotmail.com or 304-229-6229.

If there has been a major snow the day before or the weather is especially inclement on the day of the trip, check the PVAS website to make sure the trip is still on.

If the trip is snowed out, it will be rescheduled to Mar. 22.

Participants should wear sturdy footwear and dress appropriately for the prevailing weather conditions.
