Shaman class for kids

By Staff | Mar 21, 2014

Listen for the beat of the Native American drum! “Fireball: An Introduction to Shamanic Practice” for students in grades 5 through 9 will begin Friday, Mar. 28 at the Harmony Healing Arts Center, located at 211 E. New Street, Shepherdstown. The four-week program will be from 4-5 p.m. each Friday (except April 18) through April 25.

Bill O’Brien, M.A., M.Div., recently led a Shamanic practice class for middle-school students and, because of its success, decided to extend the age group. Shamanic practice is an excellent way to re-establish our connection with nature in these environmentally challenged times, he explains.

Mr. O’Brien, a spiritual development practitioner in Shepherdstown, has trained extensively as a shaman and has appeared on numerous radio and television talk shows in the Washington, D.C., area.

The cost of the four class is $40, and it includes materials. Preregistration is recommended: Contact Bill O’Brien at 304-876-6071 or email (nathanielcenter@gmail.com).
