The months of April and May are very busy for the Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority. EPTA is participating in the Earth Day event scheduled for Morgan’s Grove Park in Shepherdstown WV on Saturday, Apr. 26. EPTA will have a bus on site and children will be able to paint on one of the MARC Train buses. The artwork chosen was submitted by a local student from Martinsburg High School. Nikitha Appani is a senior at MHS and is enrolled in James Rumsey Technical Institutes Graphic Design program. Nikitha is a deaf student who moved with her family from India in 2006. Nikitha submitted this artwork for the bus as part of Elaine Unnone’s Multi Media class. After graduation, Nikitha plans on continuing her education at James Rumsey Technical Institute as an adult learner and take classes at Blue Ridge CTC. Nikitha will be inducted into the National Technical Honor Society on April 29, 2014. Nikitha is the daughter of Prasad & Radha Appani. We encourage the community to bring their children to Morgan’s Grove Park to paint her artwork she created. The EPTA bus will be available from 11-3pm for children to paint at Morgan’s Grove Park.

On Wednesday May 14, 2014, Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority will hold an Open House for the public from 3 to 7 p.m. EPTA will offer tours of the facility and provide information and materials related to Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority. Light refreshments will be served to those attending the event. The Open House will be held at our facility at 446 Novak Drive, Martinsburg.
