Party planned for Spurgas

By Staff | Apr 11, 2014

Joseph Spurgas is a vital part of the Jefferson County community. He has served students and parents to meet the needs of an ever changing world. In the 33 years that Spurgas has been a part of the education system, he has impacted the lives of families, teachers, businesses and local community groups. From teaching students about science, helping teachers to reach their potential, to making connections for the community and giving students the tools to make a difference, the impact hat he has had is far reaching and sustaining. Harpers Ferry Middle School has been the home for many years to teachers, students and families because of the direction and the leadership of Mr. Spurgas.

The Harpers Ferry Middle School family invites family, friends and students, both past and present, to celebrate and recognize the exceptional achievements of Jose Spurgas. To honor his accomplishments, a celebration and ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 10 at Shepherdstown Fire Hall. A meet and greet will be held from 6-&:30 p.m. followed by a ceremony. Refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Judy Johnston at 304-267-9108.
