By Staff | Jun 13, 2014

AHA, the Jefferson Arts Council, will host “Art in the Park,” a FREE one-day art making event for children and their parents on July 5 from 3 7 p.m. at Sam Michael’s Park off Job Corps Road in Jefferson County. Come early to make art, stay for the Jefferson County sponsored fireworks, music and food vendors.

Children will be able to immerse themselves in variety of materials to create mobiles, Mondrian-like collages, accordion books, and even shields and swords from their favorite fantasy books that they can take away with them. Jefferson County artists leading these art-making sessions for children and their parents include Kenzie Allen, Liz Goins, Suzanne Ravgiala and Emily Vaughn.

Art in the Park is produced by the Jefferson Arts Council in partnership with Freedom’s Run and the JCPRC and is funded by the Eastern Area Health Education Center. This new partnership is intended to bring art to everyone.

AHA, now doing business as the Jefferson Arts Council, is a 501 (c)(3) organization whose mission is to make art happen for everyone. For information, visit the website at www.ahajc.org or on Facebook.
