Oz comes to Opera House stage

The Wizard of Oz, famous story by L. Frank Baum, with music and lyrics by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg, will come to the Old Opera House stage in Charles Town this month. The production is based upon the classic motion picture owned by Turner Entertainment Co. and distributed in all media by Warner Bros

Show dates are July 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m. and July 26 and 27 at 2:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $12 for students and children.

Join Dorothy Gale when she takes a magical journey over the rainbow and meets a dancing scarecrow, a man made of tin and a cowardly lion and together they face an evil witch only to learn what they already knew, that there is no place like home. All the magic that is remembered from the classic movie is here and will appear live on the Old Opera House stage. Don’t miss the chance to see Glinda the Good Witch, the Munchkins, the Aerobatic Apes, the inhabitants of Emerald City and the Great Wizard himself as they reveal the magic that all have come to know as “Oz”. A cast of over 50 performers are ready to travel over the rainbow!
