The Hot Monkey’s Big Chili Cook-off will take place on Saturday, Aug. 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Shepherdstown Train Station, Audrey Eagle Drive. The annual event will raise funds to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Entry fee for the event is $25. Entrants must provide their own crockpot, chafing dish or other appliance to keep chili warm. No gas burners will be permitted. Set up begins at noon. Tables, outlets and sampling cups will be provided. The cook-off begins at 1 p.m. The winner will be the entrant whose chili receives the most votes. First, second and third place finishes will be recognized. Each entrant will receive a Hot Monkey t-shirt. For those wishing to sample all chili entries and help determine the best, admission is $8.
