Sign up now for Nature Photography workshop

By Staff | Aug 22, 2014

The Potomac Valley Audubon Society is now accepting registrations for a nature photography workshop it is sponsoring the weekend of Sept. 19-21. The workshop will be held at Cacapon State Park outside Berkeley Springs. It will be led by Wil and Donna Hershberger, who are both accomplished nature photographers. It will be aimed at beginners but will also be useful for more experienced photographers. The cost to participate will be $150 for the entire weekend.

The workshop will be intensive. It will begin with a 6:30-9 p.m. session Friday, Sept. 19; continue with all-day (6:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.) sessions Saturday; and conclude with a 6:30 a.m.-12 noon session on Sunday.

Instruction will cover all aspects of nature photography and include classroom and outdoor field sessions. It will focus on 35mm format equipment (film and digital), but point-and-shoot photographers are also encouraged to participate. Topics of discussion will include light, composition, equipment, workflow and finding suitable images.

Participants should bring their own cameras and lenses and a tripod and flash if they have them.

Full information and on-line registration are available on the PVAS website at www.potomacaudubon.org. Or contact Krista Hawley at 703-303-1026 or adultprograms@potomacaudubon.org.
