RESA 8 will offer a Fire Officer 1 and 2 course (48 Hours) starting Friday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m at the Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department. Classes will meet Friday, 6:-10 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sept/ 12, 13, 14, 26, 27, 28 and Oct. 4. Mike Athey will be the instructor.

This class will combine the requirements for Fire Officer 1 and Fire Officer 2 and meets NFPA 1021, 2009 requirements for Fire Officer 1 and Fire Officer 2. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive certificates for the Fire Officer 1 and Fire Officer 2. Someone already having Fire Officer 1 must attend the entire class to certify for Fire Officer 2. Participants are required to complete a significant amount of class work outside of the scheduled classes.

Tuition for this course is $60 and the book cost is $90.
