Call for help at Apple Butter Festival

By Staff | Oct 17, 2014

The Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Apple Butter Festival on Saturday, Oct. 25 at the fire station. This department invites the community to join in the fun of an old tradition of making apple butter.

Volunteers are needed to help, starting the week of Oct. 20 with preparing the apples. This will be done day and evening, Monday, Oct. 20 through Wed., Oct. 22 at the fire department. Then on Saturday, starting at 5 a.m., there is an need for additional help firing the kettles and stirring apples all day. Any help given during the entire week and or on Saturday will be greatly appreciated by the fire department members.

There will be lots of fun, not all work, so come and join in for a worthwhile community cause. For additional information, call Doug Pittinger at 304-876-6038 or Denny Barron at 304-876-6686.
