The Democrats of Jefferson County will host a “get out the vote” rally on Oct. 19 at 2:30 p.m. in the Rockefeller Ballroom at The Clarion Hotel in Shepherdstown.

WV Secretary of State and US.. Senate nominee Natalie Tennant will be the keynote speaker. She will be joined by former Congressman Harley O. Staggers, Jr. (D-WV), Danny Staggers, former Young Democrats of America President Rod Snyder and WV AFL-CIO Electoral Campaign Coordinator Sammi Brown.

In addition to speaking, the Staggers brothers will present The Congressman Harley O. Staggers, Sr. Award for Exemplary Service to a county Democrat. The Democrats of Jefferson County created the award this year and named it in honor of the brothers’ late father who represented West Virginia in the US House from 1949 until 1981.
