Local mascots took to the track at Summit Point Raceway Sunday afternoon during the Family Fun Exfearience event that benefited the Charles Town Cannons baseball team. Mascots included a bear from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, U.S. Cellular cellphone, Bloomery Distillery’s lemon, ‘Chippy’ the chipmunk from Jefferson County Parks and Recreation, Sweet Frog and Slider of Glory Days fame. Appropriate for a baseball fundraiser, Slider took top honors crossing the finish line ahead of his competitors.
