Homecoming this weekend for SU

By Staff | Oct 31, 2014

Homecoming will be running through the gate this year at full speed. The lineup of events is numerous and diverse, this year that will not only include the traditional Shepherd Rams football game and parade but also a Founders Day celebration and even a Masquerade Ball for students.

The events begin Friday with a Spirit Day, as well as a 100 year celebration exhibit in the Scarborough Library.

It is the celebration of the 100 year anniversary of the Family and Consumer Sciences program, as well as the 40th anniversary of the Social Work program. The Founders Day celebration begins Friday at 3pm at the Butcher Center, followed by the Spooktacular Concert put on by Shepherds Music Department and Ram Band at 7pm and the Masquerade Ball from 9 to 11 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.

On Saturday events will begin at 9am with the Shepherd University Alumni breakfast held on the Mcmurran lawn. This will be directly followed by the age old tradition of the Homecoming Parade starting at 10:15 a.m., including the coronation of the Homecoming king and queen.

The Shepherd Rams will play Glenville State at noon, hopefully keeping their win streak alive and ending the celebration with a bang.
