Social Studies Fair recently held

Shepherdstown Middle School students participated in the first round of Social Studies Fair competition last Thursday. Teacher Stephanie Unger, who headed up the fair, said that 109 students worked on 85 projects. Local judges came in to rate the entries and the first place ranking entries will move on to the county competition Nov. 15 at Wildwood Middle School. Topic categories ranged from World Hisotry and U.S. History to Anthropology, Sociology and Political Science, among others. Jaya Carey, and 8th grade student, is jusged on her project, “What was life like for soldiers during World War II,” by Doug Perks and Alex Weakland.
