By Staff | Nov 28, 2014

Celebrate the spirit of the season with holiday music at the Dec. 5 First Friday Coffeehouse at Trinity Orchard House on Route 45. mid-way between Shepherdstown and Martinsburg. The Maryland trio and First Friday favorites, Mountain Air, will be the feature. Doors open for social time and open mic sign-up at 7 p.m. All open mic participants should be there early to get a slot to perform at one of the area’s premier listening rooms. Up to eight performers can show off their talents during the hour preceding the feature act.

Bobbi Smith and Lisa Donohoe have been singing partners of years. Performing in folk groups, choirs and singing with family and friends naturally led to combing their talents to create the group Mountain Air. Bobbi plays guitar and provides the graceful alto harmony and stirring lead vocals. Lisa brings her soprano talent, plus mandolin, hammered dulcimer, chimes and a variety of effects. Their remarkable harmonies knit together in a cross of musical genres from country, pop, ballads, sacred and classic love songs. With the addition of Bob Murphy on upright bass there is nothing that’s missing from the palate of musical colors.
