Shop Shepherdstown for creative gift ideas

Heading into the third weekend of the four-week Christmas celebration in Shepherdstown there are a lot more community festivities, family fun and creative shopping opportunities to help one find the perfect gifts.

The Shepherdstown Community Club’s Ho Ho Ho-liday Handmade Market continues this weekend with a variety of local handmade goodness. The Handmade Market will be open this Saturday, Dec 13 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec 14 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and is located on the lower level of the War Memorial Bldg., 102 E. German St.

The Handmade Market is thrilled to showcase the following local artists, crafters and designers: Fire Robin Farm (earthy functional pottery, bowls, mugs, serving ware, soap dishes), Euterpes Pleasure (joyful original paintings, prints, and art boxes), Even Rose Love (hand-forged metal jewelry), The Cottage of Herbs (delicious herb mixes for dips, sauces and soups, infused vinegars, teas, and gift baskets), d’Pholk Designs Fused Glass (beautiful ornaments, fused glass servers, bowls, spoon rests, melted wine bottle cheese trays), Avant Garden (pottery for floral and garden design), Nature’s Unique (natural log bird houses, feeders and bat houses), Nature’s Inspirations (gemstone and beaded jewelry with a fair trade focus), Susan Carney Art (unique fine art, monotype prints, art cards), Peace of Cake (homemade cookies, cakes, seasoned nuts, hummus), Creative Art and Soul (sandcarved and pewter pendants, dog leash holders, necklace and key holders), Toni Kay Dye (wildlife art, handpainted feathers), Michael Dye (handcarved wizard wands and figurines), and Legend Mountain (hand-sewn and handpainted seasonal and decorative folk art).

The Ho Ho Ho-liday Handmade Market will also be open the following weekend for last minute shopping, Dec 20-21.

For more creative shopping, walk a block down German Street and swing by the Shepherdstown Holiday Marketplace at the Enter Hotel. They are open Saturdays and Sundays until Christmas from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Find holiday greenery and wreaths, baked goods, jewelry, bird houses, warm wearables and a whole lot of other creative gifts made from local artists, artisans and designers.
