Betty’s Diner makes list
Betty’s Diner topped a national list naming top U.S. diners to help with New Year’s hangovers. Freelance journalist Will Levith penned the article for CNTravel.
Quoting Levith, he states: “There are two things that come to mind when you think about good, old-fashioned Southern cooking: comfort and calories. And West Virginia’s Betty’s Restaurant serves up hefty portions of both. Throw your intentions for losing weight in the new year out the window–at least for one more day–because that New Year’s Day hangover cure lies in the thick, creamy, artery sticking goodness of Betty’s homemade sausage and chipped-beef gravy. You can literally order it as a condiment on a waffle instead of syrup.”
The list named nine other diners from various locations around the country including Luxury Diner, Cheyenne, Wyoming; West Side Drive-In, Boise, Idaho; Phillips Avenue Diner, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Darwell’s Cafe, Long Beach, Mississippi; Becky’s Diner, Portland, Maine; Ramsey’s Diner, Lexington, Kentucky; Purple Cow, Little Rock, Arkansas; Paul’s Pancake Parlor, Missoula, Montana; and Old Mill Tasty Shop in Wichita, Kansas.
