Speak Series continues
The fifth Speak Story Series concert will feature Adam Booth of Shepherdstown and will be recorded live for an upcoming CD. Adam is a young Appalachian storyteller whose work blends traditional folklore, contemporary styles and music. He has been featured around the country at festivals and conferences, including at the International Storytelling Center, the Appalachian Studies Association Conference, the Appalachian Regional Commission and the National Storytelling Festival Exchange Place. His recordings have received a Parents’ Choice Silver Honor and Storytelling World Award Honors. He is a four-time champion of the West Virginia Liars’ Contest.
Speak will take place on Tuesday Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Club War Memorial Building. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased at Four Seasons Books, at www.speakwv.org , or reserved at 304-886-9481.
