A peaceful vigil was held by local residents Tuesday evening in front of McMurran Hall. The event’s purpose was to encourage a public call to President Obama to reject the proposed Keystone XL pipeline making national news. Shepherdstown resident and Sierra Club Beyond Coal Campaign director Mary Anne Hitt was the event’s featured speaker.
