Apollo calls for auditions
Auditions for “The Andersonville Trial” will be held at the Apollo Civic Theatre, 128 E. Martin St., in Martinsburg, on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 1-3 p.m.; Sunday, Feb. 8, from 2-4 p.m.; and Monday, Feb. 9, from 7-9 p.m.
The show, under the direction of Tami McDonald, is about the military trial of Captain Henry Wirz, commandant of Andersonville prison in Georgia, after the Civil War. There are 15 speaking roles of varying size for males ranging in age from late teens upward. One male MUST be a very slight young man who can pass for 19 years of age. The director is also looking for one male who can do a good German accent.
In addition, there are seven non-speaking roles for the judges panel that will require very little time commitment and will provide the opportunity to dress up in neat Union officer uniforms.
Rehearsals will begin in early March and the show dates are April 17-19 and 24-26, 2015.
