Opera House presents ‘Here on the Flight Path’

By Staff | Mar 9, 2015

‘Here on the Flight Path,’ a romantic, adult comedy by Norm Foster, will be on stage at the Old Opera House in Charles town March 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22.

Set on adjoining balconies in a big city apartment building, the play follows John Cummings as he interacts with three women, who become his neighbors over a three and a half year period.

Here On The Flight Path is a hilarious look at a screwed-up nerd’s relationships with three attractive and very different women, Fay, Angel and Gwen. For John Cummings, living on the edge of Toronto’s Pearson Airport, the coming and going of jet planes is simply a metaphor for the way life flies by. When you don’t grab tomorrow by the tail, you’re left on the edge of the runway, on the outskirts of life. Strung out by a failed marriage and uncertain of his macho attraction, John’s attempts at romance with his lovely neighbors turns out to alter his oh-so masculine perceptions of love and provides the serious undertow in Foster’s comedy.

Show times are 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoons. Ticket prices are $19 for adults at evening shows; $17 for adults at matinees. Student price is $12 for all shows.
