Speakers announced for March 14 Mental Health forum
Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church and the League of Women Voters have announced the names and organizations to be represented at their March 14 event “Busting the Stigma: A Forum on Mental Health.” The event is free and open to the community.
The Forum will provide information on resources currently available in the community and an opportunity to discuss what else is needed.
The scheduled speakers are: Dr. Joy Buck, WV University School of Nursing; Angela Porturica, Hospital Services, Berkeley Medical Center; Heidi Lucas, Treatment-therapy/ psychopharmacology, Shenandoah Community Health; Amy Kidrick, Children’s Liaison, EastRidge Health Systems; Dr. David Didden, Patient Support, Jefferson Co. Health Department; Thomas Kimm, Post Recovery, Recovery WV, Oxford House Model; Sgt. Thomas Anderson, Air National Guard; and Susan Holt, NAMI Frederick County. Renny Smith of the Jefferson County League of Women Voters will moderate the discussion. There will be time for questions and answers for those attending.
The Forum will run from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 14 at the Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church. Light refreshments will be provided during registration between 9:30 and 10 a.m. The Church is located at the corner of Washington and King Streets across from the Post Office in Shepherdstown.
