Moving Forward De-Stress clinic planned

By Staff | Mar 23, 2015

“Moving Forward” is an integrative health initiative sponsored by the Jefferson County Health Department.

This innovative program focuses on helping clients alleviate symptoms caused by stress-related conditions. Participants suffering from substance abuse, chronic pain, addictions or other mental health illness may find this integrative health approach particularly beneficial in their recovery.

The program consists of eight treatment sessions utilizing acupuncture or acupressure, stress reduction techniques and group therapy. Sessions will occur weekly and last three hours each. A celebration of completion of the program and a graduation gathering will take place in the ninth week.

Participants are sought for this important initiative. The first session will begin on Tuesday, March 24 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in downtown Charles Town. Candidates sought should be 18 years of age or older, in recovery and willing and committed to attending all nine weekly sessions.

The Moving Forward De-Stress program is not covered by insurance. Participants are asked for a modest donation of $10 per session; however, this donation is not required for acceptance or participation in the program. Three additional courses are in the planning stages for 21015.
