Apollo brings back historical play “The Andersonville Trial”
Back by popular demand, The Apollo Civic Theatre, 128 E. Martin St., Martinsburg, presents the historical play “The Andersonville Trial” by Saul Levitt. The production will run April 17-19 and 24-26.
Directed by history enthusiast Tami McDonald, “The Andersonville Trial” is a striking courtroom drama about the famous military trial of Henry Wirz, commander of the Confederate prison at Andersonville during the Civil War. The play is a provocative study of the moral issues involved in the conflict between man’s obligation to authority and to his conscience.
Curtain time is 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are available at the door. Or, for reserved seating, call (304)263-6766. Tickets are also available online at www.apollo-theatre.org.
