Workshop to focus on sharing nature with children

The Potomac Valley Audubon Society will offer a special, one-day workshop about “Sharing Nature With Children” on Sunday, April 19. The workshop will be held at the Society’s Yankauer Nature Preserve in Berkeley County from 2-4 p.m.

It is intended to help caring adults learn new ways to share nature with their favorite youngsterstheir own children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or those of friends and neighbors.

It will provide specific techniques and activities for exploring the out-of-doors with children, especially during the spring and summer months. (Another workshop focusing on fall and winter months is being planned for later.)

None of the activities will require special equipment, and they can be done anywherein local parks or trails, or in the backyard at home.

Anyone who is interested will be welcome but there will be a fee and pre-registration will be required.

The fee will be $10 for PVAS members and $15 for nonmembers
