Potomac River Cleanup at Potomac Wayside, Harpers Ferry

By Staff | Apr 13, 2015

The public is invited to join us and volunteer on Saturday April 11 from 8 a.m. to noon, for the Annual Potomac River Watershed Clean up at the Potomac Wayside River Access in Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. Ranger Samantha will be leading the clean up. Gloves, trash bags, & recycling bags will be provided. Bring your refillable water bottle, wear sturdy boots, dress in long pants of a tough fabric, and layers up top. Be prepare to get dirty and have some fun! We always find some really interesting items.

Parking will be just down the road, past the Exxon, in the ‘Catoctin Kettle Corn’ lot. Just be sure to ask the Catoctin Kettle Corn folks where they’d like you to park. Then proceed with extreme caution, watching for traffic, and walk along the road then cross at the stoplight by the Exxon, and meet at the stone wall by the pull out loop area. Look for Ranger Samantha.

Bring your digital cameras to capture the project, and maybe even enter the Alice Ferguson Foundation photo contest!
