Shepherd alum and contestant on The Voice to perform at Shepherd April 23
Fresh off competing on NBC’s singing competition show The Voice, Shepherd University alumnus Paul Pfau ’10, will perform on Thursday, April 23, at 8 p.m. at the Frank Center Theater in the final Performing Arts Series at Shepherd event of the season.
Pfau competed on The Voice this season where he sang with Team Pharrell, mentored by Pharrell William. Pfau was eliminated in the knockout round the week of March 23.
Rachael Meads, director of student activities and leadership and PASS Program director, said Pfau is excited about the chance to return to Shepherd to perform for his loyal fans in the local area.
Meads said she’s watched Pfau’s career grow from his days as a student winner of Program Board’s “Battle for Shepfest” event, to his recent national television debut on The Voice.
“We have been fans of Paul since he was a student here,” Meads said. “He has the whole package: intelligence, creativity, a kind heart, and fantastic talent.”
When PASS’s last guest artist of the year suddenly canceled for medical reasons, Meads saw an opportunity to ask Pfau to perform.
“This seemed like the perfect moment to bring him home to Shepherd and let him feel the love and support of our community in person,” she said.
Tickets are $15 for the general public; $10 for seniors and Shepherd employees; $5 for children; and free for Shepherd students with valid Rambler ID.
