Potomac Clay Weekend scheduled
The second annual Potomac Clay Weekend takes place April 25 and 26 Come visit clay-oriented studios located in the Potomac Watershed, hike/bike/kayak the rivers and trails and celebrate the deep connection between our waterways and outdoor recreation, and the ceramic arts that come out of these areas. Studios are open 12-5 p.m.
Participating studios include: Joy Bridy Pottery, Sycamore Pottery with Pam and Ren Parziale, Lisa Kovatch Pottery on the Jefferson County side of the Potomac River and M4 Studios with Kirke Martin, and Bill Van Gilder Pottery on the Maryland side of the Potomac River.
Joy Bridy Pottery will be offering a ‘clay and nature’ kinesthetic sculpture workshop, otherwise known as mobiles. Bring your nature finds from yesterday’s hike, and we’ll put them together with clay as the balance. Workshop meets Sunday, April 26, noon, and cost is $25 per mobile, suitable for groups or families, as well as individual makers.
The Potomac Clay Weekend Map can be found on the Potomac Clay blog and facebook page, and activities will be listed as the weekend schedule takes shape.
