Capstone Exhibition series scheduled
The Department of Contemporary Art and Theater at Shepherd University is pleased to announce a series of exhibitions that will feature artwork by forty graduation seniors, each pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Graphic Design, Painting & Drawing, or Photography/Computer Imagery. The 2013 Capstone Exhibitions will take place April 23-26 in various venues in the area: Shepherdstown, (April 24, 25, & 26), Martinsburg (April 24).
With a focus on contemporary practice, the Department of Contemporary Art and Theatre has been recognized as a Program of Distinction by the state of West Virginia and the students’ work has been featured in numerous regional exhibitions and national competitions. Through a variety of media and stylistic approaches, these conceptually driven artists will each present a body of artwork, with respect to their chosen discipline, that demonstrates a clear concept and a through exploration of a chosen process. These exhibitions mark the students’ culmination artistic achievements before they head to various graduate programs and professional careers in the arts.
