The Shepherdstown Water Department would like to apologize for the delay in notifying our water customers of the recent cloudiness in our water supply. Water Department personnel replaced a pressure reducing valve that malfunctioned. Unfortunately, in replacing the new valve the water became cloudy, but at no time was the water unsafe to consume.

Director of Public Works Frank Welch said, “The Water Department will make every effort to assure the notification of a possible issue more expeditiously in the future. Again, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience you may have incurred.”
