Rotary inducts two new members

The Rotary Club of Shepherdstown inducted two new members at its regular breakfast meeting May 12 at the Bavarian Inn.
The new members are Brian Bender and Tessa Bowers.
Bender is the Principal/Owner of “Your Food Guide” and Eastern Panhandle West Virginia Connect, a customized WordPress website development and video marketing company. He is also a full-time student at Shepherd University, majoring in Communication and New Media.
He moved to the Eastern Panhandle from upstate New York in February 2013, and served as the volunteer manager of the Berkeley Springs Farmers Market from April to December of that year.
While living in New York he was involved in organic farming, running a direct market Community Supported Agriculture operation and serving as a farmer-educator.
He is a retired non-commissioned U.S. Navy officer.
He lives in Falling Waters.
Bowers is an attorney specializing in energy issues at Steptoe & Johnson, PLLC.
She earned her J.D. degree from the West Virginia University College of Law, and also holds a Masters of Arts in Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast News from WVU.
A native of Shepherdstown, Bowers is a life-long member and supporter of the 4-H Youth Development Program, a member of the Young Professionals of the Eastern Panhandle, and a member of the West Virginia Bar and American Bar associations.
She lives in Shepherdstown with her husband, Jeff, and their four-month-old son David-Guy.
The Shepherdstown Rotary Club’s membership currently totals 62.
