Relay For Life of Jefferson County’s Paint the Town Purple

By Staff | May 29, 2015

For those venturing around town during June 6 June 21, don’t be alarmed if there is purple everywhere. It’s “Paint the Town Purple” for Relay For Life of Jefferson County in Charles Town and Ranson. The American Cancer Society invites businesses to “Paint the Town Purple” in celebration of its annual Relay For Life of Jefferson County event. Businesses can show their support in the fight against cancer by decorating their businesses with purple. Businesses are also encouraged to have a Relay for Life percent of sales night and donate to the Relay event. The Relay volunteers will be decorating the towns the morning of June 6 in Charles Town and June 13 in Ranson.

It’s all for a good cause.

“The goal is to raise money to fight the disease and raise awareness about the search for a cure,” said Dan and Linda Hart, publicity chairs for the event. “We hope to see a lot of purple and get people into the spirit of Relay.”

The upcoming Relay For Life of Jefferson County is June 20 at Jefferson High School. Opening ceremonies begin at 1 PM. There is still time to get involved in Jefferson County’s annual Relay For Life fundraiser. To get more information, contact Chanti Davenport, co-chair, at chanti.davenport@gmail.com
