June is ‘Adopt a Shelter Cat Month’
The Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County is participating in the National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month. All cats over one year old will be half price ($40) in June. The adoption fee includes all vaccinations, including rabies, feline leukemia and aids testing, as well as deworming, flea treatments, spay or neuter and micro chip, with a life time registration. All cats are also eligible for a free health exam at Inwood Animal Center.
There are many adult cats at the shelter awaiting their forever homes. View pictures of a majority of the cats on the AWS web site at www.awsjc.org. Better yet, visit the cats at the AWS animal shelter on Leetown Pike on Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. or see the cats residing at Petco in Ranson. Cats bring joy and laughter to a household and it is a proven fact that pets lower your blood pressure. Tiger Lily, Barbie, Boo, Darma, Prissy and all of their friends are waiting for you to give them a forever lap and home.
The Animal Welfare Society has been serving the community since 1952 providing shelter, medical treatment and adoptions for the homeless pets in the county. Visit the web site www.awsjc.org or call 304-725-0589 to learn more about the society, its upcoming events, to view all the pets waiting for adoption and to find out how you can help.
