Festival tonight; Ducky Race tomorrow
The Shepherdstown Fire Department will host their one-day festival beginning at 5 p.m. at the station. The “Friday Festival” includes a baked goods auction at 7:30 plm., a slient auctio, raffles, hog roast, clowns, ice cream and other festival foods. In addition, the event has added a “Cruise In” from 5 p.m. to dark. The first 50 vehicles will receive a Shepherdstown Fire Department dash plaque. Baked goods and silent auction items are welcome and should be delivered by 5 p.m.
Saturday will find town visitors witnessing hundreds of rubber duckies floating in Town Run. The ducks will find their way into the run at approximately 4:30 p.m., entering at McMurran Hall. The annual Ducky Race is a fundraiser for Good Shepherd Caregivers. Each duck costs $5 or one can obtain a family of five ducks for $20. Ducks are currently on sale at the Good Shepherd offices or they may be purchased prior to the race Saturday. First, second and third place winners will receive cash prizes if their lucky ducks reach the end of the race at The Little House in that winning order.
